Special Exhibition Sections:This exhibition is divided into three main themes:「 Satellite Unveiled 」、「 Development History 」and「 Mission Objective 」.

 

 

Overview of the Exhibition Areas:

 

Satellite Unveiled 」: This section takes visitors on a journey from the satellite’s architecture to the control center, offering an in-depth look at the technological strength behind Formosat-8. With a domestic production rate as high as 84%, Formosat-8 features locally developed components including the camera lens, main body, and sensors. Its native resolution reaches 1 meter, and it is equipped with AI edge computing to make satellite image analysis more efficient and more real-time.

 

Development History 」: This section presents National Cheng Kung University’s long-term development in the field of space technology, highlighting its important achievements and helping visitors understand the key role that Taiwan’s higher education institutions play in space technology. It also showcases the technical collaboration between NCKU and the National Space Organization.

 

Mission Objective」: This section introduces the optical remote sensing payload and scientific payload carried by Formosat-8, revealing its scientific missions to observe phenomena such as high-altitude lightning, airglow, the ionosphere, and plasma bubbles. It also highlights its wide-ranging applications in disaster prevention, urban development, and national security.
