【A Shared Sky:The world of Chinese Texts and Cultural Exchange】

:::
:::

The title A Shared Sky evokes the transmission and influence of Chinese rare books across cultures-like an invisible canopy linking civilizations. Through these works, the exhibition offers new perspectives on cultural exchange across time and space.

Organized into five thematic sections-Square It Off, A World of Words, Paper Trails, Formosan Footprints, and Treasury of Treasures-the exhibition traces the evolution of writing and printing, and explores how Chinese characters have long served as a medium of communication across the Asian cultural sphere. It also highlights classical Chinese records of exploration in Malaysia and Taiwan, while presenting the library’s most distinctive and treasured holdings.

By showcasing rare books as vessels of knowledge, the exhibition invites visitors to journey through time and across cultures, and to witness the sparks of brilliance emerging from cross-cultural encounters.
